Lyle Knight has been busy, here’s the 2016 edition of the Aberdeen Columns guide. Aberdeen Columns is a welcome addition to the Central BC Rock climbing inventory. It provides 130+ steep columnar basalt crack climbs ranging in height from 12m to 22m. The rock is solid and provides high quality cam and the occasional nut placements.

New Multi-pitch: CardiYak Rhythm

Great news for multi-pitch fans. Lyle Knight, Rob Birtles and Gary Wolkoff have just completed a 17 pitch epic on the Yak, south of Merrit. Rob Birtles describes the route. The climb was a 4 year effort by Lyle, Gary and I. It’s was a journey to put this thing up. To date it’s the hardest climb on yak. Climbing style – slab/crack. Logging at Roche Lake

Courtesy of Garry Brace: Interfor will be logging in the vicinity of the Roche Lake climbing area for the first 3 weeks of May, 2012. They would prefer that people not climb at the crag from Mon. to Fri. until after 4:00pm. There are no restrictions on Sat. or Sun.
